Pottery making is an ancient art form around which many cultures have flourished. From the Persian Plateaus to the Mesoamerican continent, pottery has served as a form of expression and cultural growth. Learn this ancient craft in one of our four courses and be part of this tradition.
THE PROCESS
Using a potters wheel clay is centered and worked to create a basic cylinder shape. This shape is then pressed, pulled and open to the desired piece: bowls, plates, pitchers the possibilities are endless.
WHEEL THROWING
With guidance and support you will learn to center clay to form a cylinder which is the basis for other shapes. Classes are small and designed for individual attention so that each student can develop skills in a relaxed environment. You will have guided studio time once a week and plenty of open studio time to practice.

ONE DAY WORKSHOP
Can't commit to a monthly course at the moment? Take a one day workshop. These workshops allow you to try the potters wheel for the first time. No experience needed, just a fun and open mind.
Workshops run for 2 hours, $90 per person. Fee includes instruction at the wheel, clay, and use of studio tools. You also get to keep one of your creations which I trim, glaze and fire for you. Maximum 5 people per workshop. Minimum of 3 to hold a workshop.
Workshops are one day classes where you will try your hand at centering clay. If you want to keep 1 additional piece that you make during your visit, there is an additional $25 fee.
